In infants
Problems linked to a short tongue tie are frequent, causing difficulties with breastfeeding, swallowing, speech or facial growth — as is a large lip tie, which can sometimes affect the alignment of the teeth.
During growth
The transition from milk teeth to permanent teeth, in parallel with the growth of the jaws, often requires particular attention in order to prevent possible facial deformities.
Recognised hospital expertise
Dr Kovacs headed the stomatology department of the Queen Fabiola Children's University Hospital (HUDERF) for nearly 20 years. This department included paediatric dentistry, orthodontics and maxillofacial surgery. This experience has led to particular expertise in the care of children and adolescents.
